The Convergence of Fire and Snow: Kashmir Oud & Rose. In the high, mist-shrouded valleys of Kashmir, where the air smells of melting snow and ancient pine, lies the inspiration for one of the most majestic blends in perfumery: Kashmir Oud and Rose Attar. This fragrance is a marriage of two worlds. The rose utilized here is the rare, resilient Himalayan rose, grown in the cool elevations of Kashmir. These blooms carry a crisp, honeyed sweetness laced with a distinct chill, a stark contrast to the sunbaked roses of the plains. This delicate floral spirit is distilled directly into Oud (Agarwood), the dark, resinous & wood of the gods. Founded deep within the ancient forests of northeastern India and aged over decades, the oud acts as a fierce, smoldering anchor. Together, they undergo the ancient hydro- distillation process, creating a liquid tapestry of fire and snow.
Fragrance Profile - This attar is a masterclass in tension and harmony, evolving dramatically on the skin:
Top Notes: An ethereal, frosty opening of crystalline mountain air and green rosebud instantly followed by a subtle, spicy warmth reminiscent of Kashmiri saffron.
Heart Notes: A breathtaking blossom of deep, velvety Himalayan rose—intense, romantic, and slightly fruit-forward, fighting beautifully against the initial hints of dark wood.
Base Notes: The magnificent descent into aged, resinous Indian Oud. It is smoky, leathery, and deeply balsamic, carrying whispers of damp earth and ancient forest floors that hold the rose in an eternal, powerful embrace.
Poetic awakening - The Valleys Breath
Where snowy peaks assault the silent sky,
And wild red roses learn to bloom and die,
The dark Aguru waits in silent earth,
To give the valley’s breath a second birth.
One born of fire, of resin deep and old,
One born of frost, in petals tipped with gold.
They meet inside the copper’s burning womb,
To weave a shroud for winter’s frozen tomb.
A drop of Kashmir on the pulse is pressed,
A wild, sweet spirit on a monarch’s chest.
The ancient smoke, the rose’s fleeting grace,
Eternity captured in a drop’s embrace.
Kashmir as the bridge: Historically, Kashmir was a vibrant center of spiritual learning, Buddhism, and Shaivism. It was the northern gateway of the Silk Road in India, where precious aromatic resins like Aguru from the east met the pristine herbs and roses of the Himalayas, creating a sanctuary for the worlds most sophisticated perfumers.
Maaya’s blends are created through the traditional hydro-distillation of these natural materials into a carrier oil.
- Top Notes: An initial burst of fresh, dewy, and slightly sweet rose petals. It can sometimes be brightened with subtle citrus, bergamot, or saffron accords.
- Heart Notes: A richer, deeper floral phase where the rose becomes velvety and mature. This is often blended with soft woody notes, patchouli, or spices.
- Base Notes: The signature anchor of the attar. Dominated by dark, earthy, and smoky oud (agarwood), supported by grounding elements like musk, amber, and a touch of vanilla.
INGRIDENTS - Betel Leaf (Paan) absolute oil, pure sandalwood oil, Traditional herbs, aromatic roots, and spices are blended in to recreate the complex, slightly sweet, and minty undertones of a prepared paan.
BLENDS WELL WITH – Agarwood (Oud) oil, Cedarwood oil, Ruh Khus (Vetiver) oil, Ruh Mitti (baked earth/ petrichor) oil, Cardamom oil, clove oil, and amber oil.
SEASON - Spring and Summer. The peppery, minty, and fresh green qualities of the betel leaf provide a refreshing "cooling" effect in the heat.
Monsoon Magic: The earthy and herbal base of many Ruh Paan blends pairs perfectly with humid, rainy weather.
OCCASIONS - Personal Well-being, Spiritual Ceremonies, Gifting, Weddings & Festivals
